Romanians Can Invest in Tax-Free Treasury Bonds Offering 7.8%

Romanians can invest, starting Monday, in Treasury bonds, with maturities of 1, 3 and 5 years, with annual interests of 7%, 7.5% and, respectively, 7.8%, according to a press release from the Ministry of Finance.

The government bonds have a nominal value of 1 leu and are in dematerialized form, the quoted source states.
“Government bonds represent a safe investment, with an advantageous and non-taxable interest. In addition, the advantage of citizens’ investment in government bonds is that the interest paid from the state budget remains in the country, goes into the pockets of Romanians, and citizens contribute through these loans to a more balanced budgetary construction. I am glad that more and more Romanians are choosing to invest in government bonds and I recommend to everyone that starting from Monday, they invest with confidence in Tezaur government bonds”, declared the Minister of Finance, Tanczos Barna.
Government securities can be purchased between January 13, 2025 and February 6, 2025 online, only by individuals who are registered in the SPV for securities launched through the State Treasury units.
