BVB lost RON 5.5 bln in capitalisation last week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) lost 5.5 billion RON in capitalisation, 2.49 pct, this week, and the value of share transactions decreased by 20.5 pct, compared to the previous week, reads the data released by the BVB.

The stock market capitalisation reached 214.994 billion RON, between March 6 and 10, 2023, down from 220.499 billion RON, between February 27 and March 3, 2023.

Stock transactions generated a turnover of 137.271 million RON, down from 172.682 million RON, in the previous week.

The best trading day at BVB was Wednesday, March 8, when a turnover of 33.396 million RON was recorded, and the worst day, Friday, March 10, with a transaction value of 22.857 million RON.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – BET – closed the week at 12,354.76 points.

OMV Petrom shares were the most liquid securities on the main segment of BVB, with transactions of 39.888 million RON and a price increase of 4.51 pct.

In the top of the transactions are the shares of Banca Transilvania, with transactions of 27.932 million RON (-1.13%) and Romgaz – with 14.281 million RON (-3.46 pct).

The most important increases in quotations were recorded by the SIF Hoteluri (+16.36 pct), Conted (+12.86 pct) and UAMT (+10.84 pct) shares.

At the opposite end, significant decreases were recorded by the shares of Condmag, with a decline of 21.43 pct, followed by those of Electrica (-11.88 pct) and Transelectrica (-6.93 pct).
