The Bucharest Stock Exchange gains almost RON 5 bln in capitalization last week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) gained 4.9 billion lei in capitalization, or 1.4%, last week, while the value of share transactions increased by 81.57%, compared to the previous week.

According to data published by the BVB, the stock market capitalization reached 357.139 billion lei, during the period 6 – 10 January 2025, increasing from 352.223 billion lei, during the period 30 December 2024 – 3 January 2025. Share transactions generated a turnover of 110.983 million lei, up from 61.123 million lei, in the previous week.

The best trading day on the BVB was Wednesday, 8 January, when a turnover of 38.317 million lei was recorded, and the worst day, Thursday, 9 January, with a value of transactions of 35.128 million lei.

The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange – BET – closed the week at 17,052.60 points.

Banca Transilvania shares were the most liquid stocks on the main segment of the BVB, with transactions of 40.839 million lei and a price decrease of 0.72%.

Also in the top of transactions are OMV Petrom shares, with transactions of 14.004 million lei (0.07%), and Romgaz, with 8.058 million lei (3.66%).

The most important increases in quotations were recorded by Sinteza shares (50%), UAMT (16.82%) and Comelf (+14.95%). At the opposite pole, significant decreases were recorded by Electroaparataj shares, with a decline of 13.81%, followed by Mecanica Ceahlău (-7.41%) and Prefab (-5.92%).
