Banca Transilvania was the most profitable company last year, reporting a net profit of RON 2.4 billion (EUR 543.9 million), almost six times more than in 2014. Thus, the bank topped from tenth place in 2014, wall-street.ro informs, using National Trade Register Office (ONRC) data.
„Our financial results are proof that 2015 was the best year in BT’s history and confirmation that we have managed to achieve our goals of organic growth, at the same time with the acquisition and integration of Volksbank Romania,” Horia Ciorcila, Chairman of Banca Transilvania’s Board of Directors, stated.
Surprisingly, second place is occupied by Oltchim chemical plant in Ramnicu Valcea. The chemical factory registered last year a preliminary net profit of RON 2.308 billion, due to the cancellation of debts, following losses of RON 459.32 million in 2014.
These are the best economic and financial results since the insolvency proceedings and the best result in economic and financial operational index EBITDA since 2008.
The loss was by RON 140 million less than in 2014 and by RON 246 million less than in 2013.
Oltchim chemical plant is followed by Romgaz, the natural gas producing company that has posted for 2015 a profit of RON 1.18 billion, however, by 16 percent lower than 2014.
The most profitable companies and banks top is completed by BCR, Hidrolectrica, Continental, Dedeman, Transgaz, Automobile-Dacia and BRD.
The most profitable company 2 years ago, OMV Petrom ranks the 16th which had a net profit of RON 331 million in 2015, up by 8.6 percent compared to 2014.
