DVI Production, the company behind the FORTEM brand and a manufacturer of linear masonry elements, is opening a new factory in Iernut, Mureș County. This facility will boast the largest production capacity in Europe and will produce a new type of AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) using state-of-the-art technology.
The new facility enables the production of a wide range of densities and dimensions of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) and aims to expand into international markets.
With a 100% Romanian greenfield investment of approximately 40 million euros, the Fortem factory in Iernut is set to redefine construction standards and contribute to both local and national economic development.
In addition to its AAC block portfolio, the factory is equipped with the infrastructure needed to produce AAC panels in the near future.
The project is fully supported by Fortem through a robust financial model based on three key pillars: business partners, state aid, and contributions from banking institutions. This strategic approach has enabled the company to overcome economic challenges over the past four years and strengthen its position as an industry leader.
“We aim to be a benchmark in our niche and to provide construction professionals and end customers with durable, efficient, and top-quality materials. Every AAC block we produce is the result of a carefully controlled process dedicated to excellence. With the launch of the new factory in Iernut, our goal is to become a regional market leader, with a production output that exceeds industry standards, and to offer customized solutions that support the success of every project. The production capacity will reach 2,000 cubic meters of AAC per day, making it the largest capacity in Europe,” stated Viorel Iacob, CEO of DVI Production.
The fully digitalized Fortem factory in Iernut spans over 10,000 square meters, is strategically located with easy access near the Transylvania highway, and is equipped with highly automated machinery to ensure a flawless production flow. The facility creates over 100 jobs, thus contributing to the development of both local and regional communities.
By using cutting-edge technology that integrates the most advanced processes in the industry, production at the Fortem factory will be of premium quality. Fortem products are continuously monitored through QR technology for traceability, allowing real-time tracking of the production status, preventing errors, and ensuring transparency and compliance. The company’s own laboratory in Iernut, Mureș, accredited and equipped according to international standards, guarantees the superior quality of each product leaving the factory. Every batch of Fortem BCA undergoes rigorous testing, ensuring the durability of any construction.
For FORTEM, sustainability and innovation are top priorities: “In the context of an increasingly aware industrial sector, marked by its environmental impact, the integration of advanced technologies and the optimization of production processes are essential steps towards reducing resource consumption and carbon emissions. Our products are eco-friendly, resulting from an optimized manufacturing process with reduced energy consumption, generating minimal pollution levels. Therefore, implementing cutting-edge technology will not only contribute to increasing operational efficiency but will also help us build a more sustainable future for the construction industry“, adds Viorel Iacob.
Therefore, this 100% Romanian project represents an important step for the local economy, builders, and end consumers. By utilizing the latest production technologies, Fortem AAC not only ensures superior strength and durability but also facilitates a fast and precise execution, without additional costs. The production process significantly contributes to reducing the environmental impact through lower resource consumption and carbon emissions. The investment in advanced technologies is a firm commitment made by DVI Production FORTEM for a greener and more responsible future, supporting both the sustainable development of the industry and the creation of a safer and more comfortable environment for both professionals and end customers.
