The price of natural gas produced in Romania and consumed by the population will not increase by July 1st, 2015. The Government and Regulatory Authority for Energy (ANRE) will develop a new gas market deregulation graphic, for July 1st, 2015- July 1st, 2021 period which will take into account the downward trend of oil price developments in the region and the longer alignment period agreed with international financial institutions, the Department for Energy announced in a press release.
Department of Energy states that there never was a risk that population bills for heat and gas to increase from January 1st, 2015. “Minister delegate for Energy is misinforming when he says that there was never a risk of thermal energy price to increase as of next year, Iulian Iancu (photo), president of the Committee for Industries and Services at Romanian Parliament – Chamber of Deputies, said, realitatea.net informs. In another context, in his Tuesday meeting with IMF delegation, minister delegate for Energy, Razvan Nicolescu spoke about the further implementation of corporate governance rules in state energy companies, as well as the need for their restructuring and streamlining and natural gas market liberalization.
The European Commission (EC) agrees CHPs regime to remain unchanged compared to the current situation, i.e. the natural gas consumed in order to produce heat will apply the same price as for consumers households, the press release notes.
