Romanian PM Viorica Dancila has announced on Wednesday that the Government takes the vow that Romania adopts the Euro by 2024. The Cabinet will soon send the papers on the national plan to adopt the Euro and the supporting documentation to the European Commission.
“The adoption of Euro is a large-scale project that has to be thoroughly prepared by involving experts, the academic environment, trade unions, the employers’ associations, the civil society. (…) Today, the Government is assuming the documents regarding accession to the Eurozone and they will be also sent to the European Commission soon. We implicitly assume the target to adopt Euro in 2024″, PM Dancila stated.
She pointed out that Romania will enter the first phase of joining Eurozone by joining the European exchange rates mechanism.
