Prime Minister Victor Ponta wants to provide Americans with the necessary economic conditions for investments in Romania. This is what he stated after having met the US Charge d’Affaires Dean Thompson on Wednesday morning, informs Digi 24.
The PM urged ministers to remove all barriers that might hinder businesses launched by the US companies.
The United States are not among the top investors in Romania. They rank only the 13th place in the hierarchy, according to the National Bank of Romania. At the end of 2013, total US investments amounted to only EUR 1,08 billion.
“I want to ask you all, we will make an update to the roadmap of the commercial area these days and just as we have established with the United States Department of Commerce to have investments not only in Europe but also in the US, because our strategic partnership with the US works very well on the political and military area and not so well on the economic area (…),”said Victor Ponta.
