Intesa Sanpaolo Bank appoints new Deputy General Manager And Chief of Retail Division

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, the Romanian subsidiary of Intesa Sanpaolo, has appointed Gabriela Simion as Deputy General Manager and Head of Retail Division. The appointment is subject to approval and authorization by the National Bank of Romania (NBR).

In her new position, Gabriela Simion will be responsible for Retail Banking, as well as Small Businesses, Individuals, Multichannel & CRM Network Management departments and Customer Satisfaction.

With a solid knowledge of the banking industry, Gabriela Simion brings over 20 years of experience in retail banking, business development, customer experience, and lending products. Previously, she held managerial positions in several international banking groups, having coordinated large teams, products and client portfolios.

Intesa Sanpaolo Bank’s market share is around 2%, currently being the 15th bank in the system by asset size. With a client portfolio now encompassing 55,000 retail customers, which currently account for 40% of the bank’s assets and liabilities, the bank’s strategy in 2019 focuses on strengthening its commercial approach, in order to address clients’ needs with a competitive financial products and service offering in all business lines – retail, corporate and SME.
