German retailer Kaufland is going to invests EUR 200 million to expand and upgrade its stores network in Romania this financial year starting March 1, 2018, double the budget of the previous financial year, Loredana Samoila, PR manager Kaufland Romania, announced on the occasion of the official opening of a new store in the southern part of Bucharest.
In the next 12 months, Kaufland will open 10 new stores in Romania after the company opened six new stores on the local market in the financial year ending on February 28, 2018.
The investments in expanding and upgrading Kaufland network will also target the development of the EV charging stations chain.
The store inaugurated on Friday will be open to the public on Saturday, February 17, being the 119th of Kaufland network and the 13th in the Capital.
The hypermarket is located in the Odaii area, 5 district, on Alexandria Road, bringing 130 new jobs.
Kaufland Alexandriei has a selling area of 3,414 sqm, in a total area of 5,201 sqm and the parking provides 239 car seats.
Also, this is the first store in Bucharest through which Kaufland Romania implements the expansion project for fresh fish section, which will be brought in 34 stores in the network. Red tuna, Saint Jacques shells, crawfish, organic salmon will be among specialties.
