Kaufland Romania brings new Food Court concept in its stores

Kaufland Romania opens a Food Court area and inaugurates a new ‘open mall’ concept for commercial galleries with new shopping areas outside the store, as a press release informs.

The first transformed Kaufland store is the shopping gallery in Barbu Vacarescu Boulevard in Bucharest, and the concept will be expanded step by step to other units on the network.

Inside, the Food Court area hosts restaurants, pastries and cafes such as Stradale and Cafeneaua Mitzu, the first coffee shop launched by Chef Foa, Salad Box, Noodle Pack, Thai Scoops and Tip Top. Very soon, the American Subway restaurant franchise will open here a unit too.

The space has a completely new modern design that combines lighting solutions with natural materials and elements. Outside the shop, Kaufland has expanded its shopping galleries with modern containers, specially designed, with tenant shops in the parking area.

“This is the start for our ‘malls’. It’s a project to implement the ‘food-to-food connect’ vision and part of our constant approach to providing a complete shopping experience. (…) We continue the process of reinventing the hypermarket through all the innovative initiatives of the last period, ” said Andrei Secretianu, B2B Sales & Distribution Manager, Kaufland Romania.

Recently, Kaufland Romania invested EUR 300,000 in ‘Gradinescu’ concept by which the retailer transforms its roofs, the exterior of the car parks and stores into green areas that are cultivated with vegetables, fruits, shrubs, aromatic plants and flowers that can be used by the community in the area.

‘Gradinescu’ is a 100 percent Romanian project.
