Kaufland Romania opens the largest store of its network

German retailer Kaufland, the number one on the domestic food trade market, opended on Wednesday in Bucharest the biggest store of its network. The unit, located in Brancusi district on Valea Oltului street, is the 10th in the capital and the 101st in Romania.

This store has a surface of approximately  5,500 square meters, the largest network store after sales area and 26 cash registers.  Also for the first time this new Kaufland’s unit will be equipped with a own bakery.

The store will sell up to 20,000 different goods:  brand products, regional products, private labels.

Commercial gallery space, which covers an area of over 2,300 square meters will be occupied by Kaufland strategic partners: pharmacies, mobile units, traditional products a.s.o.

The German discount hypermarket chain is the largest hypermarket operator in Romania and the leader of the local retail market based on turnover. Last year it reported a RON 6.43 billion (approximately EUR 1.44 billion) net turnover.
