Austrian wood-based panels manufacturer Kronospan has inaugurated, at its factory in Sebes, Alba County, a fully automated melamination line, following an investment of EUR 10 million, a press release informs.
“Kronospan Sebes factory has the largest production capacity in the world, and every fourth item of furniture in Europe is built from Kronospan elements,” the release also reads.
The melamination line has implemented an automatic quality control system that detects up to 60 different types of surface quality errors.
With the completion of this investment, the Kronospan plant in Sebes also launches the process of switching to the low emission panels production.
Company’s officials say the plant will only manufacture organic panels.
Besides the unit in Sebes, Kronospan owns another production facility in Brasov. The company invested about EUR 600 million in Romania over the last 19 years and has 800 employees.
