Lidl continues the expansion process in Romania by building a new logistics center in line with the latest sustainability standards. According to a press release, the new regional headquarters will be in Cordun, near the city of Roman, Neamt County, without specifying the value of the investment.
The warehouse will have a total built-up area of 44,960.00 square meters, on an area of 132,000 square meters and will serve 50 Lidl stores in the eastern part of the country.
”An important factor in choosing the location was its proximity to the European road E85, which allows the efficient supply and thus maintaining the average transport distance of products to stores, less than 150 kilometers,” German retailer notes.
The opening of the new logistics center will make an important contribution to the economic development of the local community by creating over 200 new jobs for all levels of professional training.
Each employee of the warehouse in Roman will benefit from a tuition period in one of the four Lidl logistics centers in Chiajna, Nedelea, Iernut or Lugoj.
The lowest gross salary will be RON 2,315, including meal vouchers. Moreover, the employees will also have other benefits, such as free private health insurance, advanced training and professional development programs.
