Logan MCV Stepway, the star of Dacia’s stand at 2017 Geneva Motor Show

Dacia revealed this week the new Logan MCV Stepway at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, presented as “modern, spacious and affordable estate car with an adventurous spirit.”

The new Logan MCV has been added to Dacia’s crossover-inspired Stepway family, joining Sandero, Lodgy and Dokker. The new car has five full seats and a boot capacity of 573 litres, one of the biggest boots on the market.

The biggest change is represented by the jacked-up suspension raising the ground clearance by 50 mm to a generous 174 mm. The car has front and rear skid plates, a Duster-like grille, side protective mouldings for the lower part of the bodywork and a specific interior.

Based on the facelifted Logan MCV, the new Stepway version comes with LED daytime running lights and tinted taillights to spice things up while staying on a strict budget.

There aren’t any changes underneath the hood, so buyers can get it with a turbocharged three-cylinder 0.9-liter engine. It pumps out 90 horsepower delivered to the front axle through a standard five-speed manual gearbox or an optional five-speed automated manual transmission.

Dacia’s new revelation is counting also on efficiency due to its trusty dCi 90, known for providing excellent fuel economy. In some markets, Dacia is going to sell the Logan MCV Stepway in a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) version.

Logan MCV is currently produced in two Renault Group plants – Mioveni (Romania) and Tanger (Marocco).

The 2017 Geneva Motor Show has also provide the occasion of presenting new limited-edition versions of all the models in the Stepway family including Sandero, Dokker, Lodgy, as well as the Duster (the name of this limited-edition version will be different in each market).

The limited-edition version will come in two exclusive body colours – Iceland Grey, available across all the models, and Ochre Orange, for the Sandero Stepway only. Other features will include exclusive upholstery in a combination of materials and new wheels, plus copper orange detailing for the centre console fascia trim strip, air vent surrounds, top-stitched floor mats and upholstery.
