Major Romanian IT Company Reportedly Hit by Cyber Attack. NTT DATA Romania: “No ransomware attack”

A group of hackers have reportedly succeeded in penetrating the computer systems of the Cluj company NTT Data Romania and announced that they stole 230 GB of strategic data. The hackers are threatening to publish the stolen data in the coming days, according to media platform Cyber ​​Express, which announced that the Department of Health of the American state of Florida was also attacked.

Hackers from the RansomHub group claim to have stolen 100 GB of data from here and threaten to make it public in a few days, Cluj24.ro reports.

In retort, NTT DATA Romania said there had not been a ransomware attack

No ransomware attack. While there has certainly been some suspicious activity detected relating to a legacy server, the quick response taken by our security team prevented any further damage.
On 14th June, suspicious activity was detected by our security monitoring team on a legacy server, separate from our corporate network. We immediately activated our Incident Response protocols and rendered the entire environment completely inaccessible and inactive. Additional measures to mitigate any further risk and protect the data of our customers were also activated. At this time, there is no visibility client data has been affected. The company EBS Romania was founded in 2000 in Cluj-Napoca and was taken over in 2013 by the Japanese concern Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT). In 2015, the name of the company was changed to NTT Data Romania.
