MedLife, one of the most important players on the domestic market of private healthcare services, continues the strategic transactions of last year, which continued in 2016 too. After Diamed Center network purchase, made in early January this year, MedLife announced a new deal – Dent Estet, the biggest player on the Romanian dental services after turnover.
MedLife acquired the majority stake of Dent Estet, a group with an experience of over 17 years in dentistry in Romania, a press release informsnon Thuesday, but the transaction price was not disclosed.
Dent Estet Group ended 2015 with net sales of over RON 22 million. For 2016, the company bets on net sales by 20-22 percent higher than in the previous year.
“(…) In the next period we aim to expand Dent Estet clinics network with at least 1-2 new units each year, the dentistry becoming one of the six business units within MedLife alongside hyperclinics, laboratories, hospitals, maternity hospitals and pharmacies,” Mihai Marcu, President of MedLife’s Board, stated.
Following this transaction, Oana Taban, founder and managing partner of Dent Estet group, will keep the full management duties within the group, being directly responsible for the development and extend strategy of Dent Estet network. Also, Oana Taban will take over the management of the dentistry division within MedLife.
The purchasing of Dent Estet clinics would represent the 10th transaction carried by MedLife group.
“Now, we are in advanced talks with 4-5 medical services operators and we aim that in the next 18 months to complete transactions with companies whose turnover exceeds EUR 20 million,” Mihai Marcu said.
MedLife also announced that it has ended 2015 with an aggregated turnover of EUR 101.5 million and estimates that in 2016 will record an increase of 30 percent.
“We achieved our goals for 2015, being the first company in the Romanian private medical system that has exceeded EUR 100 million threshold in turnover,” MedLife’s official concluded.
