MedLife opens the fourth hospital in Bucharest, investing EUR 1.4 M

MedLife Titan is the fourth hospital in Bucharest of the Romanian private operator of medical services MedLife, a business family held by Mihail and Nicolae Marcu. The healthcare unit was opened on Thursday, following a EUR 1.4 million investment.

According to MedLife officials, the inauguration of the hospital in Titan, 3rd district, has come naturally, considering the fact that the private operator developed a clinic in the same area four years ago, where over 90,000 patients have been diagnosed and treated so far.

“The investment in these two projects in Titan – the hyperclinic and the hospital – amounted to EUR 2.2 million”, Mihai Marcu, President of MedLife’s Board said in a press conference.

The new healthcare unit covers three levels, with an area of 1,800 square meters, has 31 beds and an operating block with OR where any type of surgery can be performed.

Overall, MedLife’s 9 hospitals have 23 operating rooms and 610 beds.

In 2014, MedLife continued to consolidate its leading position nationwide, following a turnover of EUR 80 million and an operational profit (EBITDA) of EUR 13 million, up by 25 percent compared to previous year.
