MedLife scores new acquisition in Moldavia

MedLife private healthcare provider has bought Micromedica Medical Centre, a private unit operating in the region of Moldavia region.

Micromedica has been operating on the private medical market since 1995, providing over 18 medical specialties and laboratory services. The group has six medical units in Piatra Neamț, Bacău, Roman, Bicaz, Roznov and Târgu Neamț. It posted a turnover of RON 18 million in 2018.

“We are boosting out presence in Moldavia through this acquisition, as the region is of a particular interest to us. We thus add six more cities on our map and we expand our borders even more for the patients in the northeastern country. From this moment, we can officially announce that over 95% of the Romanians can reach in maximum one hour by car to a MedLife hospital or clinic. We’ll continue to consolidate our position and we hope to announced further more acquisitions by the end of the year”, said Mihai Marcu CEO MedLife Grup.

“For us the partnership wit MedLife represents an important stage in the company’s evolution. We are glad we’ll benefit of expertize and the medical and management knowledge of the group”, said in his turn Ștefan Botez, general manager Micromedica.

By this takeover, MedLife reaches a portfolio of 26 acquired companies.

Last month, Medlife announced its latest acquisition of a private hospital in Ploiesti.
