Michael Beitz becomes the new CRO of BCR

Michel Beitz, Chief Risk Officer and Chief Workout Officer at BCR between 2010 – 2014, returns to BCR to assume Chief Risk Officer (CRO) responsibilities, starting with January 1st 2018, as a press release informs.

This comes after the Erste Group Holding Board adopted recently a series of organisational measures which also impact the Management Board of BCR.

At the same time, Bernd Spalt, currently Chief Risk Officer of BCR, will take over as Chief Risk Officer of Erste Bank Austria and become the fourth member of the Management Board of the bank.

“I warmly welcome the return to BCR of Michael Beitz as a long-time member of our team. We have been working together in very challenging circumstances during the turnaround program at BCR and he has proven his experience and contribution. Today we are in a significantly better position and we are looking forward to continue the sustainable growth of BCR supported by a strong, united team. In addition to that, Bernd Spalt takes with him, in a key role at Erste Group, a first hand experience and engagement towards the development priorities of BCR. We are grateful for his exceptional impact and unparalleled dedication to BCR,” Sergiu Manea, CEO of BCR has commented.
