Germany’s Miele, leading manufacturer of premium household appliances worldwide, recorded a sales growth of 56 percent on the Romanian market in 2016 year-on-year, a press release informs on Monday.
Last year, the company achieved a turnover of RON 24.5 million and the products with the best sales were vacuum cleaners (approximately 6,000 units), washing machines and dryers (over 2,000 units) and dishwashers.
“Last year we have witnessed a significant increase of home appliance market in Romania, with a focus on the premium segment, so there is already a trend of customers to turn to premium. They appreciate appliances’ quality (…) and begin to understand why the quality costs and what are the advantages of such products,” Loredana Butnaru, Manager Miele Romania stated.
The most important investment in Romania last year was the inauguration of Miele Point store in Bucharest, on Calea Dorobanti. The investment purpose of EUR 100,000 was to offer Miele customers a better accessibility.
Thus, at the end of last year, the total number of exclusive Miele stores in Romania has reached seven, here being marketed only German brand products. The investments in stores network development will continue this year too.
Besides the increasing in sales volume of appliances in 2016, the detergents and maintenance products under Miele label registered a significant increase.
