The Embassy of Romania to the US and the US Department of Commerce have launched the preparations for the ‘Trade Winds’ event, scheduled to be held in Bucharest in October this year, the Romanian Embassy in the USA informs in a press release.
‘Trade Winds’ is an annual event organised by the Department of Commerce together with partner countries with an attractive economic and business profile for US companies. It represents a major regional economic mission, more than 150 US companies in all fields being expected to attend – industry, services, capital. The event will be attended, along with the Romanian and American representatives of the government and business environments, officials and businessmen from Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece and Serbia, as the event is aiming the south-eastern region of Europe.
According to Ambassador George Cristian Maior, “the organization of this important event in Romania shows not only the interests of American business environment in trade and investment opportunities, but also the growing scale of the economic dimension of the Romanian-US Strategic Partnership. The development of this feature continues to be one of the priorities of our diplomatic action, and the launch of this program now, only a few months after the new US administration has taken over, confirms the very good premises that support our entire bilateral relationship.”
The preparation of the ‘Trade Winds’ event will include a series of activities carried out jointly by the Embassy and the US agencies in Washington and in other localities in the United States, aimed at the American business environment in order to present in detail the economic realities of Romania. Among them, the embassy considers to organise, in early May, an interactive workshop on the topic of business environment in Romania, with the participation of major US companies on the US East coast.
