The number of new car registrations increased in Romania between January and September 2023, compared to the first 9 months of last year, according to data from the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM), published on Monday. The brand ranking shows that Dacia remains in first place in Romanians’ preferences.
According to statistics, at the level of the first nine months of this year, the number of new car registrations reached the value of 110,011 units, increasing by 15.46% compared to the similar period of the previous year. In the ranking of new cars, by brand, at the end of September 2023, Dacia is in first place – with 35,916 registered units. On the next places are Renault – with 8,271 units, Skoda (7,997), Toyota (7,888), Volkswagen (7,694), Hyundai (6,667), Ford (5,171), Mercedes (3,510), BMW (3,517) and Suzuki (3,516 ).
Regarding the second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania, the cited data show that their volume reached, in September 2023, the figure of 26,227 units, 4.73% less compared to the same period in 2022. In the same category , from January to September, this year, 202,255 units were registered in Romania, down 16.4% compared to the first nine months of the previous year.
On the other hand, month-on-month reporting shows a drop in interest for September. New car registrations in Romania decreased by 11.59% in September compared to the same period in 2022, to a volume of 10,545 units, according to ACAROM data.
