New production record in the Romanian automotive industry

In the last ten years, Dacia and Ford have produced over 4.5 million cars in Romania, and last year brought a new record, with a production of over 550,000 units. The big change in a decade was that Ford produced under 50,000 cars in Craiova in 2015, and now it has exceeded 250,000 per year.

Dacia and Ford benefited from the introduction of new models on the production lines, but the main growth was supported by the Ford Otosan plant, which produces three models starting in 2024, while Dacia ended the year with a 3 percent decrease.

In 2024, a number of 560,102 cars were produced in Romania, of which Dacia 309,432 units and Ford Otosan 250,670 units, an increase of 9% compared to 2023, ACAROM data shows. In the best months, production exceeded 50,000 units.
