ANAF: Tax inspections to Rewe, Praktiker, Baumax, Auchan and Leroy Merlin in the next three weeks

Tax inspections are scheduled in the next three weeks to the following units: REWE ROMANIA SRL, Praktiker Romania SRL, BAUMAX ROMANIA SRL, LEROY MERLIN SRL, OVERSEAS GROUP IMPEX SRL, Heinrig DISTRIBUTION SRL, AUCHAN IMPORT EXPORT ROUMANIE LLC, a reply by ANAF sent on Wednesday at the request of informs.
“Also, tax inspections are to be scheduled to other taxpayers with activities in retail and mall management until the end of the year, apart from those where inspections have already begun or will begin in the next three weeks, according to the available tax inspection capacity,” reads the response sent by ANAF. In the cases of tax inspections, the companies receive notices at least 15 days ahead, so they have time to sort out their accounting documents, as they are not checked without previous notice.
ANAF inspections come amid the growing efforts to increase tax collecting, so far the institution managed to meet their collection plan.
According to a report released by Banca Transilvania on Wednesday, the analysis of the budget execution in the first 7 months finds “improvements in taxation” and the move from the black economy to the formal one of many companies, due to the respect (to be read ‘fear’) of ANAF.
The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has begun inspections to the many shopping malls and hypermarkets, such as AFI Cotroceni, Unirea Shopping Center, Iulius Mall Timisoara and Cluj-Napoca, Billa and Cora, to the Bricostore retailer, aiming to check the balance sheets for the last five years. The checks have begun in August, tax inspectors analyzing balance sheets and accounting documents for ten companies.
