UK embassy in Bucharest organizes on Wednesday, November 19, an event bringing together successful British companies activating in the medical field and British innovations that have revolutionized the world of science.
Special guest is British researcher Dr. Michael Londesborough who will tell the story of these innovations, including the i-limb hand, the first prosthetic hand with mobile finger joints, clever artificial pancreas, the first artificial coronary artery created with nanotechnology help, and more.
Dr. Michael GS Londesborough graduated from Chemistry with the University of Leeds in England, in 1999. From 2002 he worked as scientific researcher at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry of ASCR in Rez, the Czech Republic. He is the author or co-author of 41 original scientific papers (236 references), and has two contributions to modern chemistry books. Dr. Michael Londesborough won the Young Inorganic Chemist in Czech / Slovakia for three times in a row (2002, 2003, 2004). In 2014 he received the special prize of the President of the Academy of Sciences in Czech Republic, for his work in communication and science popularization.
