The largest producer of electric power in Valcea County has asked for insolvency in court. The Electric power plant and thermal energy producer Govora supplies the cities of Ramnicu Valcea, Baile Olanesti and Calimanesti-Caciulata (south-central Romania).
CET Govora has debts of EUR 200 million to Oltenia Energy Complex, for the coal supplied by the company until July 2014.
It has, however, receivables from Oltchim worth of RON 137 million. CET Govora took over from Oltenia complex the Berbeşti ALUNU exploitation last year, for the debt in the amount of EUR 200 million, the accumulated amount in ten years for the coal purchased and unpaid.
According to Valcea Court, the first term is on May 9.
Another company that has asked for insolvency, but lost in court after a trade union challenged the request, was Hunedoara Energy Complex.
