How the profile of Romanian stock market investor looks like?

Romanian investing on the stock market – shares, indices, FX, commodities – has a stable financial situation, digi24.ro informs.

Thus, according to an Saxo Bank analysis, he earns more than EUR 4,000 per month and is 35-40 years old. Romanian investors have liquidities of approximately EUR 50,000-100,000 that they can invest anytime, depending on opportunities. Their wealth is estimated (according to their own statements) at EUR 250,000 – EUR 500,000.

The survey notes the investors in Romania are looking for a professional broker to help them to place their investments. He does not limit to local or regional market. On the contrary, he constantly seeks for opportunities, regardless of geographical area.

The study also shows that there is a tendency of Romanian investor to be more conservative, not to rush to get out of a position, even if on short-term price drops below the purchase price. Many of those who have available additional funds, rather choose to double-down, meaning to take advantage of declines to buy more and to lower the average entry price.

According to Saxo research, Romanians are trading gold – spot gold paired along with other currencies such as dollar or euro, or as futures or ETFs.

Precious metals, oil and copper are the most popular traded volumes among Romanian investors. On the other hand, there are institutional investors in Romania who trade agro products (wheat, corn, soy, rapeseed) for hedging their work in exactly the same area.

The study was conducted on a representative sample of 250 clients from Romania, who have made at least one transaction in the last 180 days.
