Investments in Romanian economy up to RON 12.85bn in Q1

Net investments in the national economy exceeded RON 12.85 billion (approx. EUR 2.86bn) in the first three months of this year, up by 7.5% as compared to the first quarter of 2015, according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

The most important investments, of over RON 6.45 billion, were directed to the purchase of machinery and transport equipment (up by 16.1% as compared to Q1 2015), while for the new construction works were allocated RON 4.93 billion (down by 0.90%), capital.ro informs.

According to INS, as compared to Q1 2015, the first quarter of 2016 shows an increase of the share of net investments in equipment (including transportation means) by 4.3 percentage points and other expenditures by 0.3 percentage points. The share of net investments in new construction works fell by 4.6 percentage points.
