More than 440,700 telephone numbers have been ported at national level in H1 2016 and the total number of numbers ported has reached 3.057 million since 2008, data released by the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) published on Tuesday reveal.
80% are mobile telephone numbers, the main beneficiary being RCS&RDS with 759,373, followed by Vodafone – 635,256, Orange – 585,692, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications (428,509) and Telekom Romania Communications (33,281).
In the first six months of 2016, some 415,377 numbers of mobile telephony have been ported, almost half (197,382) being directed to RCS&RDS, Orange got 88,501 users, Vodafone – 83,336, Telekom Romania Mobile Communications – 33,600 and Telekom Romania Communications – 12,538.
Regarding fixed telephony, ANCOM statistics show that 25 suppliers received the 614,387 of ported numbers since the launch of portability until June 30, 2016. Of these, most were ported to RCS&RDS (164,821), Vodafone (148,163), UPC Romania (130,534), Orange (114,828) and Romania Telekom Communications (24,326).
Depending on residence, most fixed telephony users who ported their numbers are in Bucharest (185,560), followed by Cluj County – 35,684, Timis County – 30,103, Prahova County – 28,387 and Galati County – 24,306.
