New cars registrations up by almost 24% in 11 months

The number of new passenger cars registered in Romania in the first 11 months of the year has reached 121,634 units, up by almost 24% against the same period in 2017, the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV) informs on Tuesday.

The second-hand cars registrations have fallen by 8.34% during the same interval, down to 434,914 units.

The overall number of vehicles registered during January-November was of 556,548 units, down by 2.80% against the same period last year.

In November some 8,303 new cars were registered, by 10.83% less than in November 2017 and the number of second-hand cars registered was lower by 8.16%.

Most new cars registered come from Dacia 2,336 units (-15.79% against November 2017), Skoda (951 units, +23.51%), Ford (776, +29.90%), Hyundai (524, +80.69%) and Volkswagen (523, -14.54%).

DRPCIV informs that during January-November 2018, out of the 121,634 new cars registrations, most popular were: Dacia (33,543 units, +22.31% against the same period in 2017), Skoda (10,468 units, +24.04%), Renault (9,901 units, +39.06%), Volkswagen (9,507 units, +5.05%), Ford (8,873 units, +15.59%) and Opel (7,383 units, +35.64%).

The source also informs that at the end of 2017 the national car park had reached 7.635 million units, up by 8.91% against the previous year. Of these, over 1.320 million were registered in Bucharest.
