New records set on the real estate market, most expensive housing is in Cluj Napoca

The real estate market in Romania has registered new records, the most expensive apartments are not in Bucharest anymore, as expected, but in Cluj Napoca, with prices of over EUR 1,500 per square metre.

Housing in Cluj is more expensive than in 2008, considered the peak for the real estate market. Ten years ago the average price per square metre was of EUR 1,400. Now the price has exceeded the EUR 1,500 threshold, stiri.tvr.ro informs.

So, a person with an average income, should save money for 11 years in order to buy a flat in Bucharest and 14 years to buy one in Cluj.

A recent survey reveals that 60% of the potential buyers are looking for a flat in a newly built block.
