Approximately one quarter of the cars in traffic have no valid compulsory motor insurance policies (RCA), because the car owners have concluded the policy for a very short period of time and then they forgot to extend it, the Competition Council informed on Monday.
The council suggests RCA policies for 6 to 12 months for natural persons and for one to 12 months for legal persons.
By analyzing the figures released by the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), CC claims a positive development is noticed in the RCA field, e.g. the fall of the combined rate and the improvement of the insurance companies’ liquidities.
The CC says the development of premiums will differ from case to case. In some cases, the higher risks lead to higher premiums and when the risks are lower, the premiums will decrease as well.
The Competition Council also mentions that an investigation is ongoing regarding a possible infringement of the national and community competition regulations by UNSAR, Media Xprimm SRL, insurance companies, member of UNSAR, other insurance companies.
