Romanians travel by plane twice a year on average, similarly to the Turks and Hungarians, according to a survey by an online travel agency, released on Thursday.
The average budget allocated by Romanians to travel starts from EUR 300/person, while the Hungarians pay EUR 350/person for a roundtrip ticket. The average cost of air travel is about EUR 500/person for Turkish tourists.
Romanians and Turks prefer similar destinations, according to the study conducted by Paravion.ro, they opt for locations in Europe. In the top of Romanian tourists’ preferences are cities in Turkey, Greece, Spain, Italy and Germany, while the Turks prefer Moscow, Paris, London, Kiev, Greece and the islands and towns in its vicinity. On the opposite side are the Hungarians, who prefer Asia and the US as destinations – Bangkok, Miami, Tokyo, New York or Istanbul.
For city breaks, Romanians spend an average of EUR 250-350/person. For longer vacations, of 7 days, Romanian tourists allocate an average budget of EUR 600-800/person.
