Tarom suspends external routes from Iasi, due to lack of aircraft

Tarom state airline has announced on Friday it has decided to suspend the operation of some international routes departing from Iasi, the decision being related to limitations ‘given by the unavailability of aircraft fleet.’ Tarom explains that in October 2016 two Airbus A310 aircraft have been withdrawn and they could not be replaced so far, hotnews.ro reports.

The company says it has taken steps to replace the aircraft, but they could not be achieved in time for the summer programme in 2017.

The summer programme in 2017 initially included the full operation of external routes from Iasi.

Sources said on Friday for news.ro that the Tarom decision is related mainly to the losses registered on the routes operated from Iasi, due to insufficient level of aircraft loading.
