2014 saw an increase on the offices market outside Bucharest for the third year in a row, with Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara and Iasi topping the demanded locations for offices, an Esop study reveals.
On the other hand, companies are more and more interested in other markets from smaller cities such as Craiova, Targoviste or Targu Mures.
The main offices transactions have cumulated 37,377 rented square meters last year, up by 60 percent compared to 2013 and by more than sevenfold compared cu 2012.
At the same time, if in 2013 most of the renting transactions came from IT&C companies, 2014 and early 2015 have registered a shift, with more and more companies from the energy, automotive, industry sectors renting business premises for their headquarters and offices.
In a country ranking on offices headquarters of the big companies, Bucharest stands first (306,273 square meters), Cluj-Napoca comes second (21,090 square meters) and Timisoara third (11,452 square meters). Iasi ranks fourth (4,100 square meters) and Ploiesti ranks fifth (735 square meters).
Among big renters outside Bucharest are Recall, Bombardier, E On, EBS Romania, HP, Accesa and Genpact, which chose Cluj Napoca. ZTE, Microsoft, Linde Gaz, Accenture and Continental preferred Timisoara, while OSF and GFK went to Iasi and Webhelp to Ploiesti.
