Bucharest City App, the travel guide downloaded for free for tourists visiting the Romanian Capital, has been sold to Orange, the app owners announced on their Facebook page.
“We are happy to announce you that our app had been bought by Orange! The app will enter a new phase of its existence in the near future (…)
We put a lot of passion into this project and we were happy to see it had been used by tens of thousands of locals, expats and tourists in the past 4 years. We, the founders and the entire team, thank you for standing by us all this time through your feedback. Some of you opened the app for thousands of times, others made a list with places that they further recommended to foreigners. You all contributed to facilitating the link between those who want to visit Romania’s Capital and the beautiful places here“, says a Facebook post.
Bucharest City App was founded in January 2015, with the aim of searching the streets of Bucharest for travelers so that Bucharest can become “a surprising city break destination and to promote the city world wide through their stories on a Facebook page“.
The team consisted in Alex Filip (founder and storyteller), Dragoș Asaftei (founder and photographer), Dasha Goga (storyteller), Ionuț Rusu (photographer), Andra Nicula (storyteller) and Bogdan Șerban (photographer).
