Orange Romania achieved a turnover of EUR 251.1 million during July-September, up by 3.3% against the same period last year, it is the sixth consecutive quarter of growth in revenues, according to a company release.
On September 30, 2016 Orange Romania had 10.175 million customers, up by 300,000 against the previous quarter, supported by the increase in number of the subscriber base by 4.8%.
The company states that in early September has taken a decisive step towards implementing the Essentials 2020 strategy and has launched the package of Orange Home convergent services in over 90 cities in Romania. The service provides Internet via fibre with speeds of up to 1Gbps by Orange Home Net, cable television by Orange Home TV and fixed telephony by Orange Home Fix.
According to the release, Orange Home TV, the satellite television service, recorded 315,000 subscribers, an increase of 26.3% as compared to the same period last year. Regarding Orange TV, the TV application on demand for PC, tablet or Smartphone, the number of downloads and updates has reached about two million by the end of September, up by 35% as compared to Q3 2015. The Orange TV Go app is the most downloaded application of streaming TV of an operator in Romania.
“The mobile internet traffic has doubled and the 4G traffic has increased 4 times in the last quarter as compared to the previous year. The growing appetite for connectivity anywhere and anytime is the catalyst of the positive trend in recent years in terms of smartphone sales, the Orange 4G portfolio is wider than ever. The share of 4G cell-phones in all smartphones sold has increased by 16 percentage points against last year and the number of clients is also rising, reaching 1.9 million,” the statement reads.
