Over 300 Land Rover and Jaguar called in service in Romania

Premium Auto Romania, the official Jaguar Land Rover importer, is calling over 300 Land Rover and Jaguar cars in service due to some problems on the safety belt or the airbags, says a notification sent to the National Authority for Customers Protection.

The official importer of Jaguar Land Rover is calling in service 275 Land Rover vehicles, the Range Rover models made in 2016-2017, Range Rover Sport, 2016-2017 models and Discovery Sport models made in 2017.

The above-mentioned models may encounter problems at the safety belt system due to the incorrect concentration of the system’s activating agent.

Thus, in case of a serious accident, the pre-straining system of the front safety belts may not activate when needed. The company however says there are not accidents or bodily injuries reported so far.

The company is conducting a voluntary campaign to recall in service the cars to check both ensembles of the safety belts, to identify the fabrication date and the correct piece code. If the fabrication date and the piece code of the safety belt is found to be among the bad pieces, it will be replaced. The work may last between 12 minutes to one hour.

At the same time, 21 models of Jaguar F-Type 2017-2018 and XE made in 2017 are called in service due to the same problem.

The official importer also calls in service 16 Land Rover vehicles, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery and Range Rover Evoque models, made in 2016-2017.
