The American giant P&G, with two detergent and hair care product factories in Romania, in Urlați, as well as import and distribution activities, has capitalized one of its companies, Detergenti SA, with 90 million lei (18.3 million euros).
Detergenti SA, a company of the P&G group, the world’s largest player in the FMCG industry that operates detergent and hair care products factories in Urlați, received a cash capital contribution of 90 million lei (approximately 18.3 million euros) last November, through the issuance of new shares, according to a company announcement.
334,504,252 shares were issued with a nominal value of 2.5 lei each, with both shareholders of Detergenti SA participating in the increase. Specifically, Detergenti SA issued 1,044 shares in favor of Procter&Gamble Distribution SRL with a total nominal value of 2,610 lei and over 35.9 million new shares in favor of Procter&Gamble Marketing Romania SRL worth 89.9 million lei.
The company’s shareholding structure thus remains the same, with Procter&Gamble Marketing Romania SRL as the majority shareholder controlling 99.9% of the shares. Procter&Gamble Marketing Romania SRL is in turn controlled by Procter&Gamble International SARL, an entity based in Switzerland.
Procter&Gamble has been present in Romania since 1994. The company owns a hair care products factory (shampoo and conditioner) in Urlați and another one, inaugurated in 2021, for Ariel liquid detergent capsules. The Urlați factory serves over 1 billion consumers in over 40 markets in Europe, Turkey, Israel, Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
