Prime Minister Mihai Tudose met on Friday at Victoria Palace with a Ford delegation led by Andrew McCall, Ford Europe’s vice-president for governmental affairs, a press release informs.
US carmaker official discussed the implementation status of Ford’s investment in Craiova, including the creation of the 1,700 new jobs already announced by the company.
In turn, PM Mihai Tudose stressed the importance of the automotive industry for the Romanian economy, both in terms of its share in GDP and social development, by creating new jobs both directly and through the economic engagement effect.
”Romania is a favorable environment for investment growth, and the development of the Craiova Ford plant confirms this. More investment means more and better paid jobs, ” PM Tudose stated.
Another topic during the meeting was the infrastructure. In this context, Tudose mentioned that the Pitesti-Sibiu motorway and the connection between Pitesti and Craiova are Government’s priorities and will be finalized by the end of the mandate.
