Polish group Maspex to take over Rio Bucovina, Romanian natural mineral water distributor

Maspex Wadowice Group, one of the largest Polish investor in Romania, Tymbark and Tedi brands owner, has signed an conditional agreement for the acquisition of Rio Bucovina, one of the important players on the domestic bottled water market, businessmagazin.ro informs.

According to AC Nielsen, currently Rio Bucovina has a 10 percent share of the Romanian bottled water market.

The deal is subject to the approval of the Romanian Competition Council.

The value of the transaction has not been made public.

It includes the acquisition of the three bottling facilities Rio Bucovina operates as well as the Bucovina brand.

Rio Bucovina deal is the third acquisition of the Polish group, which is present locally since 1996, after buying the pasta brand Arnos on 2007 and the snack brands Salatini and Capollini in 2013.
