Posta Romana invests EUR 17 M in IT network upgrading

Posta Romana state company (Romanian Post) launched two auctions for the development of IT communications network worth EUR 17 million, the announcements related to proceedings being published in the Electronic System of Public Procurement (SEAP), a press release informs on Tuesday.

The two auctions will take place on February 8 and 9, 2016.

„Our goal is that in 2016, the national postal service operator to get out of the outdated technologies which have created so many jams and did not allowed to run efficiently the commercial operations. I am confident that suppliers interested in this project to show seriousness and fairness, to be implemented in the shortest time,” General Director of Posta Romana, Alexandru Petrescu said.

Moreover, the number of computerized postal locations with main and backup VPN connection, will be doubled, from 1,000 to over 2,000.

The company states that the waiting time at the counter will decrease significantly.
