The Government considers setting up a public-private touristic promotion office, PM Victor Ponta announced on Thursday at the opening of the Tourism Fair at Romexpo. According to the prime minister, the new body is to be set up following the model of other “smarter countries” in order to better promote tourism projects compared to unavoidably bureaucratic actions of the public administration.
“ (…) I am addressing an appeal to all private agents to support us in this public-private partnership so that the decisions on Romanian tourism should not be taken anymore by the governmental clerks, but together with the private business environment in order to have really efficient policies,” Ponta argued.
On the other hand, PM Ponta unveiled another top tourism project involving EU funds. He said there are 1 billion euro funds allotted for Romania’s Danube Delta within the EU 2014-2020 financial allocation.
“ (…) I have a special project for one of Romania’s and the entire world’ s treasures, namely the Danube Delta. As you probably know, there is 1 billion euro allotted for the Danube Delta region. I hope all private and public beneficiaries will spend this 1 billion euro on infrastructure’s development, on preserving biodiversity and on tourism development in the Danube Delta,” Ponta said.
