Veeam Software, an international provider of innovative solutions in availability and data recovery, has expanded its global footprint with a brand new office in Bucharest, following an investment of over EUR 1 million.
This new office, launched last year in November, will deliver on the needs of Veeam’s growing customer and partner ecosystem across the world, establishing one of the biggest Veeam hubs in Europe creating more than 250 new job opportunities in the next three years.
“This new facility complements existing hubs in Saint Petersburg, Columbus and Atlanta, while adding to a slew of recent openings across the globe – such as Beijing and Tokyo – which will support Veeam’s accelerated growth trajectory,” Ratmir Timashev, CEO at Veeam stated in a press conference on Friday, adding: “Veeam’s new facility in Bucharest is further evidence of the company’s growing penetration in the Availability market. In the first quarter 2016, Veeam has added close to 11,000 new customers across the world and has continued to drive consistent growth across all markets.”
According to him, Romania is one of Veeam’s priorities in terms of investments in EMEA, mainly thanks to the high level of skilled professionals in the market.
“We will use the Bucharest office as sophisticated functions for marketing, sales and finance, not just like a customer support as Oracle or IBM do. We want to make from Romania a ‘mini Silicon Valley’,” Timashev noted.
Veeam representatives argue that the company is the only one delivering on the needs of modern business, empowering Digital Transformation in all sectors, and with this new facility in Bucharest it will be able to reach its goal of USD 1 billion in the next three years.
The average age of employees is 25-30 years, Andrei Romanescu, Veeam’s Managing Director of Bucharest Operations said in his turn, stressing that the company has hired people who declined offers from Google and Facebook just to join Veeam.
“The expansion of Veeam`s operations in Romania demonstrates that our country can attract inward investment and that local resources and competencies can be used at a global level. We are proud that we can offer young specialists the opportunity to apply their competencies in their own country,” Andrei Romanescu also said.
Founded in 2006, Veeam currently has 39,000 ProPartners and more than 193,000 customers worldwide. Veeam’s global headquarters are located in Baar, Switzerland, and the company has offices throughout the world.
