Romanian entrepreneur Dragos Anastasiu becomes shareholder of Valea Verde resort

Dragos Anastasiu, one of the most successful Romanian entrepreneurs and President of Eurolines Romania, who built an empire in the tourism industry, becomes shareholder of Valea Verde resort, close to Sighisoara City, in the historic region of Transylvania, Central Romania.

According to profit.ro, Anastasiu bought in December 2015, through one of his companies, 23 percent of Transcarpat, the firm which owns the resort from Cund town.

Romanian entrepreneur, along with Jonas Schaefer, the founder of the complex, plans to invest in the next years in developing the resort, especially the capacity of accommodation in the village (restored Saxon houses).

“We want to make an eco-chalet with 30 rooms, spa and restaurant in the same valley, 500 meters away. The project will require investments of EUR 2-3 million,” President of Eurolines Romania said.

Anastasiu’s appetite for hospitality industry began last year, after purchasing 50 percent of Green Village in Danube Delta, about which he said in an exclusive interview for romaniajournal.ro, that after the first summer of operating under Eurolines brand, the resort enjoyed an occupancy rate of over 83 percent.
