Alexandru Nastase presented the current economic climate of our country. ,,Romania is an attractive destination for new investment or expansion of existing ones, a status confirmed by the amounts of FDI that keep since the beginning of this year. In the first 7 months of 2015 we had EUR 2,084 million in foreign investment as almost 60% higher against the same period last year. The GDP increased by 4.3% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter of last year, Romania being the best performing country in the EU “said the State Secretary.
The Romanian official welcomed the large number of British investments in our country. According to the National Bank of Romania, the UK ranks 11th as a foreign investor in Romania, with EUR 1.475 million investment (by December 2013). UK also ranks 11th by the subscribed capital value, according to the National Trade Register Office data, with 5143 British companies registered in Romania.
“In my opinion, it is important to belong to a powerful business community, to walk on others footsteps, especially when they are leading to significant gains. In this respect, I would like to urge British companies who have invested in Romania to promote with us through testimonials, their experience in Romania. We must change, through common efforts, the perception about Romania and about the investment environment in our country. We do this constantly. In addition, today was published by the World Economic Forum the Global Competitiveness Report, in which Romania has climbed 6 positions, ranking 53rd among the most competitive countries in the world. This proves once again that the results of pro business government policies, oriented development, creating jobs, competition, innovation, institutional reform and competitiveness begin to appear”, concluded the State Secretary, according to a press release of the Department for Foreign Investment and Public-Private Partnership.
The conference was organized by Baker Tilly Romania in partnership with the British Romanian Chamber of Commerce (BRCC).
