Romanians have shopped online spending EUR 1.8 billion on online shopping last year.
“Last year, Romania customers made payments of EUR 1.8 billion (roughly EUR 5 M every day) for online shopping, almost 30% more than in 2015, when there were EUR 1.4 bln reported. Romanians have bought products worth EUR 130 M just on Black Friday last year, thus more than EUR 100 M reported in 2015,” the president of the National Agency for the Consumer Protection (ANPC), Bogdan Pandelica posted on Facebook on Tuesday, on the occasion of the World Consumer Day marked on March 15.
The ANPC head says that a considerable rise was registered on a smartphone device market, from 50% in 2015 up to 70% in 2016.
“Therefore, the online shops in Romania have registered significant rises of the traffic generated by the mobile devices: over 50% visits on the sites are from the mobile, while the acquisitions from the mobile phones gave reached 35-40% of the total online shopping,” the ANPC president stated.
