Romania’s auto market – the highest increase in the EU in November

The auto market in Romania has increased dramatically in November, the number of new car registrations increasing by 41.5%, three times more than the 13.7% increase recorded in the European Union, according to data released on Tuesday by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA).
Last month, in Romania some 8,022 cars were registered, more by 41.5% as compared to 5,669 cars in November 2014. On the whole, in the first 11 months of this year, in Romania, 72,423 cars were registered, up by 12.1% against 64,577 cars registered during the same period last year.
At EU level, more than 1.08 million cars were registered last month, up by 13.7% as compared tp 954,187 cars registered in November 2014.
Volkswagen continued to support the consequences of diesel engines rigging scandal, the group’s sales last month increased by 4.1%, while the sales of cars under VW brand increased by only 2.8%. Volkswagen remains by far the largest European automotive group, but its market share has decreased compared to November 2014, from 26.6% to 24.3%.
Dacia brand car sales increased by 4.9% in November to 28,693 units. In the first 11 months of this year, a total of 342,823 Dacia cars were registered on the EU market, an increase of 3.3% against the same period last year.
