Romania’s largest greenhouse to be launched in Timisoara

The biggest greenhouse in Romania will be inaugurated on Thursday, October 19, in Biled near Timisoara, a 100 percent domestic investment, but with Dutch technology, local media informs, without specifying the amount of the investment.

The greenhouse in Biled, where will be produced tomatoes, is the largest project in the last 12 years in the horticultural sector in Romania, the organizers say. The greenhouse near Timisoara spreads over an area of 17,000 square meters, being the largest glasshouse in Romania, as a surface area.

Silvia Raileanu is the owner of the greenhouse and she used European funds to make this investment.

The project has a system of heating and energy efficiency through the use of geothermal water and boiler, ventilation and an irrigation system and efficient drainage water consumption that reaches 40 percent.
